Clean, high-grade concentrates of gold and heavy minerals are achieved with Gekko’s InLine Spinner (ISP). The simple, low maintenace ISP is a cost-effective tool for separating coarse and fine particles. Adding an ISP
3 · Maximise Recoveries From Gravity Gold Concentrates. Gekko’s easy-to-use InLine Leach Reactor (ILR) offers superior gold recoveries in a high efficiency, low cost system. The innovative ‘rolling
Mineral or gangue can be rejected based on size (screening), density (gravity separation), surface chemistry (flotation) or magnetic properties. To optimise the application of this cycle using continuous gravity in the separating step, Gekko developed the continuous gravity recovery (CGR) laboratory test work protocol.
The process involves four steps: Production of a gravity concentrate from the mill circuit. Intensive cyanide leaching of the concentrate in an InLine Leach Reactor. Selective absorption of the gold onto Aurix® resin. Stripping and electrowinning of the gold from the Aurix® resin to give gold dore.
Gekko has expertise in the design, engineering, selection, development, manufacturing, assembly and deployment of modular mineral processing equipment for the processing of mineral ores in gravity separation, leaching and comminution in mining operations.
The crossflow zone is the critical area of a jig for the recovery of fines. It is in this area that separation of the fines is affected. The crossflow zone can be defined as that area in which the slurry rises above the level of the tail board or the depth of
As the curtains draw on 2023, the Global Gekko Gang extends warm wishes to all our wonderful supporters and collaborators. It has been a year filled with achievements, growth, and shared successes, and we are eager to share some of
The coupling of highly-controlled comminution and fine mineral separation by gravity and/or flotation represents the heart of the technology. The more efficient both the

Gekko Systems is a global leader in mineral processing solutions with a particular focus in gravity separation, intensive leaching and pre-concentration. The company was established in 1996 by co-founders Elizabeth Lewis-Gray (managing director) and Sandy Gray (inventor, thought leader, Clunies Ross award winner and multiple #AusIMM award
Supporting this supposition, Gekko have completed hundreds of test work programs utilising fine crushing (P 80 500 µm) at the front end followed by gravity separation and flotation to come to an understanding on liberation in this area. As expected the liberation
The Gekko InLine Pressure Jig (IPJ) is a coarse continuous gravity separator. While based on the same principles as traditional jigs, its pressurized design and advanced control
Gravity separation has been used for centuries to separate different minerals and metals based on their specific gravity. Some of the earliest recordings of this science in practice are from Ancient Egypt as workers panned for gold in the Nile river. While today’s geology enthusiasts still pan for gold in streams, Sepro has taken the science
Gekko Systems Pty Ltd have developed the Python Underground Processing Plant for the concentration of gold and sulfi de ores. The Python plant has an established fl ow sheet including fi ne crushing, screening, gravity separation and fl otation which aims to concentrate the valuable minerals (gold/sulfi des). The aim of the plant is to achieve high
CLASSIC MINERALS LIMITED 71 Furniss Rd, Landsdale Western Australia 6065 ASX: CLZ | ABN 77 119 484 016 [email protected] Classic’s Gekko Systems advanced gravity separation circuit played an instrumental role in the production of our
The innovative IPJ is a continuous gravity separation device that rapidly and efficiently pre-concentrates high-value and high density mineral particles such as tin, tantalum,
The metallurgical laboratory has state-of-the-art equipment for sample preparation, grinding, flotation, gravity separation, gold leaching, as well as a leach pilot plant to test protocols, circuit configurations and more. Professional advice is offered to maximise recoveries from ore deposits, including recommendations for gravity separation
The Gekko engineering team worked in close partnership with G6M to design the process flowsheet. By mid-2023, the process plant achieved commercial production, operating 24 hours a day to process tungsten, a critical mineral widely utilised in diverse industries, including steelmaking, mining, construction, electronics, and defence.
Reading Time: 2 mins read. Australian mineral processing equipment company Gekko Systems and Singapore’s Clean Earth Technologies (CET) have announced they are to work together in order to develop technologies that will make gold processing cyanide and acid-free. The two companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to
The power consumption of a DMS plant is typically very high. In some countries, power costs are close to $0.25 Kwhr. The power requirement of a typical 600 tph DMS plant would be in the vicinity of 2 MW; however, the use of the IPJ as a pre-concentrator could reduce the ROM feed rate by 70% from 600 to 180 tph.
Gravity separation can be used to recover the mineral down to the 100μm size range. Flash flotation can then recover the particles from the 150μm down to 10μm. This is clearly demonstrated in the chart below, adapted from the original version developed by Napier-Munn and Wills 2006.
As a result of the large range of jig parameters and ragging types possible, the IPJ has successfully been used for a range of minerals, including gold, sulphides, silver, native copper, tantalum, garnet and diamonds. The IPJ is a compact, low cost continuous process that requires minimal infrastructure or logistical support.
We operate an InLine Leach Reactor (ILR) by Gekko used to leach gravity gold. The problem we have is to estimate the Au recovered using Solution assays & tons from volume measurements. The variance in gold metal we are missing is always around -30%. The
mineral separation by gravity and/or flotation represents the heart of the technology. The more efficient both the comminution and the gravity/flotation systems are, the smaller the units become, and the lower the cost of operation (eg power requirements).
The GFIL is backed by Gekko’s technological expertise and in-depth knowledge of gravity separation, flotation and intensive leaching systems for efficient gold recoveries. How the GFIL Works The GFIL uses a
Like Gekko’s InLine Pressure Jig, the Viking separates materials with dissimilar specific gravity characteristics and is an ideal method for testing the separation characteristics of ore samples. The Viking uses water
